Dr. Joseph N. Myers, Jr. is a Board Certified Dermatologist who has devoted his practice to the diagnosis and treatment of skin problems in patients of all ages, and to the improvement of the skin’s appearance through cosmetic procedures. He specializes in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology and strives to provide his patients with the best care possible.
Dr. Myers earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He completed his internship at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center followed by dermatology residency at the Medical College of Georgia. Subsequently, he completed advanced aesthetic training at Dermatology Associates of Atlanta where he focused on Botox® injections, soft tissue fillers such as Juvederm® and Restylane® and laser and light treatments. Dr. Myers then joined faculty as Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the Medical College of Georgia prior to entering private practice.
Dr. Myers is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and American Society of Dermatologic Surgery. Additionally, he holds professional memberships in the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery, South Carolina Medical Association and South Carolina Dermatological Association.
Dr. Myers grew up in Mount Pleasant and is excited to be home in the Lowcountry with his wife, 4 children and 2 dogs.
Char Bixler, PA-C
Char Bixler, originally from Beaufort, SC, is a board-certified physician assistant, PA-C. Char graduated from the Calhoun Honors College at Clemson University with B.S. in Language and International Health. Char's passion for medicine led her to pursue her graduate degree at the Medical University of South Carolina, where she received her M.S. in Physician Assistant Studies. She started her career in primary and urgent care where she formed a solid foundation in general medicine prior to joining Magnolia Dermatology. Char sees patients for both medical and cosmetic dermatological needs. Char is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, South Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants, and Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.
Char is committed to providing personalized care while creating an environment in which patients feel comfortable, respected, and empowered through education to be their own health advocates. Char's approach starts with active listening and patient education. As a provider, she aims to be a cheerleader for patients as they strive to achieve their goals. When Char isn't in the office, you can find her at the beach or on the boat with her husband and dog (with a hat and plenty of sunscreen of course!).
